Remind is an Application and website that allows the user to communicate with parents at any time of day. It is an Application that can be loaded on an iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Pro. ClassDojo is an Application and website that allows the user to communicate with parents but also functions as a behavior tracking system. [ how I use it ] I use ClassDojo to award points for good behavior and deduct points for disciplinary problems. I use the communication function of the App to keep parents up to date on their student's progress, behavior, and learning. The parents can sign up to view how their child is doing in class as it relates to behavior. I use the Class Story feature to post pictures and files in a way that is only accessible by the parents and allows the parents to view and comment on the content. The parents and students have really enjoyed using this app and have commented on how useful it has been. |

ShowMe is an Application and Website that allows the user to capture audio of lessons and real time animation of notes made on the iPad to share with subscribers or publish, publicly. [ how I use it ] I use ShowMe primarily for math lessons. Prior to beginning the lesson, I upload a PDF image of a worksheet. During the lesson, the Application records the notes I make on the worksheet and my voice as I teach the lesson. Parents have told me that they will watch the ShowMe lesson before they help their child with homework. |

Weebly is a website resource. It allows the user to create a website through templates and a simple Graphic User Interface (GUI). [ how I use it ] I used Weebly to create a classroom website. I have linked my ShowMe page, Remind notifications, ClassDojo information, files for parents to download, pictures of my teacher notebooks, links to websites the students can use, and a contact form for parents to use when they have a question. At the beginning of the year I sent out and posted a note about our website and included the link and a QR code to the address. The website is viewed daily and the students tell me that they access important things when they need to. |
